Cora Cowork Desktop is an open-source, multi-agent desktop application that orchestrates specialized AI agents to help you plan, execute, and manage complex tasks. Think of it as your AI coworker — it integrates with your local tools, browses the web, writes code, edits documents, and collaborates with you in real time.
Is it really free?
Yes! The Free plan gives you 100 credits per day and 3,000 monthly credits — enough to explore all core features. The app itself is open source under Apache 2.0, so you can also build and run it yourself at no cost. Paid plans unlock higher usage limits, advanced workers, and priority support.
How do credits work?
Credits are consumed by agent actions — each task breakdown, code execution, web request, or file operation costs a small number of credits. You get a daily refresh of credits, and unused monthly credits roll over within the same month. You can monitor your usage in real time from the app dashboard.
Can I use my own API keys?
Absolutely. You can bring your own API keys for OpenAI (GPT-4, GPT-4o), Anthropic (Claude 3.5), Google (Gemini), and any OpenAI-compatible provider. Your keys are stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers. You can also use local models via Ollama or LM Studio without any API key at all.
Can I run it fully offline?
Yes. When using local models (Ollama, LM Studio) and local tools, Cora Cowork runs entirely offline — no internet connection required. This is ideal for sensitive environments, air-gapped setups, or when you simply want complete data privacy. All processing happens on your machine.
Is my data private?
Privacy is core to our design. Your tasks, files, API keys, and configuration stay on your local machine. We do not collect telemetry, analytics, or usage data. When you use local models, nothing leaves your device. Cloud model requests go directly from your app to the provider — we never proxy or store them.
How do I install custom tools / MCPs?
Cora Cowork supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard. You can install tools from the built-in marketplace with one click, or add your own MCP servers via a simple configuration file. Custom tools integrate seamlessly into your agents' capabilities — they discover and use them automatically.
How do I get support?
Community support is available on our GitHub Discussions and Discord server. Free plan users get community support. Plus subscribers get priority email support within 24 hours. Pro subscribers get dedicated support with a 4-hour response SLA and onboarding assistance.
